LDExtras Carlton Cards December 2023 Contest Terms and Conditions 

Official Rules 

NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. PURCHASE WILL NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES. 

1. Eligibility: : LDExtras Carlton Cards Contest (the “Contest”) is open only to persons who are at the  time of Contest entry: (1) an LDExtras member in good standing; (2) legal resident of one of the  following Canadian provinces: British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan or Manitoba, and (3) have  attained at least the age of majority (nineteen (19) in British Columbia, and eighteen in all other  provinces) (4) are not an employee of, or an immediate family member (e.g. spouse, parents, siblings  and children) or household member of any employee of: Carlton Cards Limited (“Sponsor”), London  Drugs Limited ("Administrator"), Carlton Cards Limited. (“Prize Fulfillment”), or their parent or affiliate  companies (all collectively, “Contest Administration”). The Contest is subject to all applicable laws  and regulations and is void where prohibited. Participation constitutes entrant’s full and unconditional  agreement to these Official Rules and the decisions of the Contest Administration, which are final and  binding in all matters related to the Contest. Winning a prize is contingent upon fulfilling all requirements  set forth herein. To enroll at no cost as an LDExtras member, go to www.LDExtras.com.

3. Timing: The Contest begins on December 1, 2023 at 12:00:00 a.m. PT and ends on December  31, 2023 at 11:59 p.m. PT (the "Contest Period"). Administrator’s computer is the official time keeping device for the Contest. 

4. How to Enter: There are two (2) ways to enter: 

a. Entry with purchase – During the Contest Period, purchase any two (2) or more selected Carlton  Cards or Papyrus greeting cards listed in Appendix A, using your LDExtras member identifier at  the time of purchase, in-store at any London Drugs location to receive one (1) automatic Contest  entry for every two (2) qualifying products purchased. For greater certainty, multiple qualifying  products purchased will result in a corresponding number of multiple automatic Contest entries;  quantities less than two will not result in a contest entry, for example purchasing one (1) eligible  product will result in zero (0) contest entries; purchasing three (3) eligible products will result in one  (1) contest entry. Qualifying products purchased in subsequent visits (or transactions) will result in  a corresponding number of Contest entries. 

Opt-Out of Entry with purchase - To opt-out of the Contest/request automatic contest entries  be withdrawn, please send a signed letter including your LDExtras member identifier and  name to LDExtras Carlton Cards Contest RE OPT OUT c/o Program Administration, 6900  Maritz Drive, Mississauga, ON, L5W 1L8. 

b. No purchase necessary – To enter without purchasing a selected product listed in Appendix A,  you must be a registered LDExtras member in good standing, and you must send a handwritten  letter that includes your full name, LDExtras member identifier, phone number, and email address,  along with an originally prepared statement between 200 and 500 words about why they enjoy  buying greeting cards at London Drugs; previously submitted statements may not be re-used. Mail  the fully completed entry to LDExtras Carlton Cards Contest RE: ENTRY WITHOUT PURCHASE c/o Program Administration, 6900 Maritz Drive, Mississauga, ON, L5W 1L8. “No purchase” entries must be postmarked by no later than contest end date of 11:59 pm Pacific Time on December 31,  2023. Each entry must be in a separate envelope and will count as a single entry.

c. There is no limit to the number of entries (includes with purchase and without) over the  Contest Period. All entries become the exclusive property of Contest Administration; no entry will  be acknowledged or returned. Contest Administration is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete,  invalid, unintelligible, or illegible entries, which will be disqualified, or for problems of any kind  whether mechanical, human or electronic. Only fully completed and compliant entries are eligible.  Any attempt by any entrant to obtain more than the permitted maximum number of entries may void  all such entrant's entries and that entrant may be disqualified at the sole discretion of Contest  Administration.  

5. Drawings: The odds of winning will depend on the number of eligible Contest entries  received during the Contest Period. Contest Administration will randomly select a potential  Contest winner from all eligible entries received during the Contest Period, within two (2) weeks of  the contest end date of December 31, 2023. Contest Administration will promptly contact the  potential Contest winner by phone and/or by email to notify them of their selection. To be declared  the Contest winner (“Winner”), a potential Contest winner must: (1) comply with all Official Rules;  (2) correctly answer a mathematical skill-testing question, unaided; and (3) sign and return to  Contest Administration a Declaration of Compliance, Liability and Publicity Release  ("Declaration"). The correctly completed and signed Declaration must be received by Contest  Administration within five (5) days of the date indicated on the Declaration, before the potential  Contest winner will be declared the Winner. If the potential Contest winner: (1) cannot within one  (1) week be contacted by phone, or fails to respond to any email attempt to contact them within  one (1) week; (2) fails to correctly answer the mathematical skill-testing question, or (3) fails to sign  and return the Declaration within the specified period of time, the potential Contest winner will not  be declared the Winner and will forfeit the Prize. If a potential winner cannot be contacted or is  disqualified for any reason, Contest Administration will refer to alternate potential Contest winners,  selected by random drawing from remaining eligible entries. Only three (3) alternate potential  Contest winners will be contacted (or contact attempts made as set out herein), and if no eligible  Contest winner is identified that complies with the Contest rules after contact (or contact attempts)  to 3 alternate Contest winners, the Prize will remain un-awarded. Contest Administration decisions  on the administration and operation of the Contest and the selection of the potential Contest winner  are at the sole discretion of Contest Administration and are final and binding in all matters related  to the Contest. 

6. There is a total of five (5) Grand Prizes to be won: 

• Each Grand Prize Winner will win a prize consisting of 1 million LDExtras points (approximate  value of each Grand Prize: $1,000.00 CAD), to be awarded in the form of LDExtras points  uploaded onto the members portal. Prize must be accepted as awarded, is non-transferable  and no substitutions are permitted, except that London Drugs reserves rights to substitute a  prize or prize component for one of equal or greater value. Actual value of each prize may  fluctuate based on pricing of each prize component at time prize is redeemed. 

7. Release: Each entrant agrees to release and hold harmless Contest Administration, and its  respective subsidiaries, affiliates, suppliers, distributors, advertising/promotion agencies, and prize  suppliers, and each of their respective parent companies and each such company’s officers,  directors, employees and agents (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability, for  loss, harm, damage, injury, cost or expense whatsoever including without limitation: property  damage, personal injury and/or death which may occur in connection with, preparation for, travel  to, or participation in the Contest; possession, acceptance and/or use or misuse of the Prize;  participation in any Contest-related activity; and for any claims based on publicity rights, defamation  or invasion of privacy and merchandise delivery, and against any liability, loss, harm, damage,  injury, cost or expense related to or arising out of any Contest-related activity and for any claims  based on copyright infringement, trademark infringement or any other intellectual property-related cause of action. 

8. Publicity: Participation in the Contest and acceptance of the Prize constitutes Winner’s permission  for Contest Administration and its agents to use his/her name, likeness, photograph, picture,  portrait, voice and/or any statements made by Winner regarding the Contest or Contest  Administration for advertising and promotional purposes without notice or additional compensation,  except where prohibited by law. 

9. General Conditions: Contest Administration reserves the right to cancel, suspend and/or modify  the Contest, or any part of it, if any fraud, technical failures, human error or any other factor impairs  the integrity or proper functioning of the Contest, as determined by Contest Administration in its  sole discretion. In such event, Contest Administration, in its sole discretion, may elect to hold a  random drawing from among all eligible entries received up to the date of discontinuance for any  or all of the prizes offered herein. Contest Administration reserves the right, in its sole discretion,  to disqualify any individual it suspects of tampering with the entry process or the operation of the  Contest or finds to be acting in violation of the Official Rules of this or any other promotion or in an  unsportsmanlike or disruptive manner. Any attempt by any person to deliberately undermine the  legitimate operation of the Contest may be a violation of criminal and civil law, and, should such an  attempt be made, Contest Administration reserves the right to seek damages from any such person  to the fullest extent permitted by law. Contest Administration’s failure to enforce any term of these  Official Rules shall not constitute a waiver of that provision. 

10. Limitations of Liability: In no event will the Released Parties be responsible for: (1) any incorrect  or inaccurate information, whether caused by entrants, printing errors or by any of the equipment  or programming associated with or utilized in the Contest; (2) technical failures of any kind,  including, but not limited to malfunctions, omissions, deletions, interruptions, or disconnections in  phone lines, computer online systems, computer equipment, servers, providers or network  hardware or software; (3) unauthorized human intervention in any part of the entry process or the  Contest; (4) technical or human error which may occur in the administration of the Contest or the  processing of entries; (5) late, lost, undeliverable, damaged or stolen mail; or (6) any injury or  damage to persons or property which may be caused, directly or indirectly, in whole or in part, from  entrant’s participation in the Contest or receipt or use or misuse of any prize. If for any reason an  entrant's entry is confirmed to have been erroneously deleted, lost, or otherwise destroyed or  corrupted, entrant’s sole remedy is another entry in the Contest, if possible. If the Contest, or any  part of it, is discontinued for any reason, Contest Administration, in its sole discretion, may elect to  hold a random drawing from among all eligible entries received up to the date of discontinuance for  any or all of the prizes offered herein. No more than the stated number of prizes will be awarded.  In the event that production, technical, seeding, programming or any other reasons cause more  than the stated number of prizes as set forth in these Official Rules to be available and/or claimed,  Contest Administration reserves the right to award only the stated number of prizes by a random  drawing among all legitimate, un-awarded, eligible prize claims. This Contest is in no way  sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or any  other social media platform which may be used to communicate this Contest. All such entities are  completely released of all liability by each entrant in this Contest. Any questions, comments or  complaints regarding the Contest should be directed only to Administrator. 

IN NO EVENT WILL THE RELEASED PARTIES BE RESPONSIBLE OR LIABLE FOR ANY  DAMAGES OR LOSSES OF ANY KIND, INCLUDING DIRECT, INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL,  CONSEQUENTIAL OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING OUT OF ANY ENTRANT’S  PARTICIPATING IN THE CONTEST. WITHOUT LIMITING THE FOREGOING, THIS CONTEST  AND ALL PRIZES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EITHER  EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO, THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF  MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE OR NON-INFRINGEMENT.  SOME JURISDICTIONS MAY NOT ALLOW THE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSION OF LIABILITY  FOR INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES OR EXCLUSION OF IMPLIED  WARRANTIES SO SOME OF THE ABOVE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS MAY NOT APPLY TO CERTAIN ENTRANTS. EACH ENTRANT SHOULD CHECK THEIR LOCAL LAWS FOR ANY  RESTRICTIONS OR LIMITATIONS REGARDING THESE LIMITATIONS OR EXCLUSIONS. 

11. Disputes: Except where prohibited, each entrant hereby acknowledges and agrees that: (1)  except as otherwise set out herein, any and all disputes, claims and causes of action arising out of  or connected with this Contest shall be: (a) governed by, and construed in accordance with, the  laws of Province of British Columbia, Canada without giving effect to any choice of law or conflict  of law rules and (b) resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action and exclusively  by the courts of the Province of British Columbia, Canada; (2) any and all claims, judgments and  awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, including costs associated with  entering this Contest, but in no event attorneys’ fees; (3) under no circumstances will entrant be  permitted to obtain awards for, and entrant hereby waives all rights to claim, indirect, punitive,  incidental and consequential damages and any other damages, other than for actual out-of-pocket  expenses, and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased; and (4) entrants' remedies are limited to a claim for money damages (if any) and entrant irrevocably waives  any right to seek injunctive or equitable relief. 

12. Entrant's Personal Information: By entering this contest, the entrant consents to the collection of  all personal information included with their entry and agrees to the use and disclosure of such  information by and between the Contest Administration, their advertising and promotional agencies,  and their respective agents and service providers for the purposes of administering the Contest.  The Winner and travel companions also agree to the collection, use and disclosure of their name,  entry, photographs, voice and statements for Contest Administrations publicity purposes without  further compensation. All personal information is subject to Contest Administration’s Privacy Policy.
